On the 2 and 3 July 2018 the SiTaSol consortium held their six monthly meeting in Frederikssund, Denmark, hosted by Topsil.
During this event the latest scientific progress was discussed. We were also given the opportunity to visit the production of Float-Zone Silicon Wafers at Topsil’s manufacturing site. The partners have been making good progress and reported about the installation of a new large throughput MOVPE reactor at Aixtron. We were also updated on the improvement in quality of low cost Si wafers and bottom solar cells, the development of substrate lift-off processes and the development of gluing and contacting technologies for these devices.
We hope to present the first solar cell results using these new technologies by the end of 2018.
We look forward to the next review meeting taking place on 13/14 December and will be hosted by Axitron in Herzogenrath, Germany.
